The popular reality tv show was won by Idris Sultan after a close contest against the fans favorite, Nigeria's Tayo Faniran.
"I have a lot of debt to pay back to Africa and so I
will find a way to plough back the prize money that I got into the
continent," he said.
Sultan will now live the life of a rich sultan with USD
300 000 as his new bank balance. He emerged winner over Nigeria's Tayo
Faniran who was tipped to take it all. Sultan had an incredible time in
the 63 days spent on the show and he becomes the first Tanzanian to win
the prestigious show.
"I don't want to think that all this is happening
because I am special. I know everyone in the house had a chance to win
it and they deserved it too. It just so happened that they picked me and
I am eternally grateful for that," the humble contestant.
Emerging tops from a competition that had 25 other
housemates vying for the same prize meant a lot to Sultan. He confessed
right after show was officially over that he was tired and welcomed the
epilogue of the show.
Although the show suffered some setbacks like the fire
in the initial days, the finale was an impressive one with performances
from some of Africa's finest musicians.musicians.
In the beginning we had a great performance from 17 evicted
housemates, who got the chance to redeem themselves from their initial
attempts at performing. Then there were also other performances from the
One Campaign Artists, Nigerian star M.I. and South Africa’s Unathi
Msengana.
